These projects consisted of demolition of two existing Burley tobacco dryers, feeders, associated conveyors, piping, and concrete pads. The installation of two new Burley tobacco dryers manufactured by Proctor-Schwarz and feeders manufactured by Griffin & Company along with new feed and discharge conveyors. Design, fabrications, and installation of intake and exhaust stainless steel ductwork and stacks, tobacco chutes, catwalks, ladders, handrail and monorail systems. Installation of steam, condensate, filtered water, flavor, air, floor drain, and fire protection piping. Concrete work, tile work, roof repairs, ductwork, and piping insulation.

Scope
Provide labor, materials, tools, and supervision to perform miscellaneous projects at all Philip Morris locations in VA. Projects range from toilet repair to design, fabrication, and installation of entire systems. R.S. Harritan furnishes pipefitters, plumbers, sheet metal workers, millwrights and ironworkers (mechanical) on an 'as needed' basis. Various tasks include installation of dryers, cyclones, conveyors, weigh belts, platforms, handrails, catwalks, etc. Piping includes fabrication and installation of all process and HVAC systems. Sheet metal fabrication utilizes carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanized and aluminum. Harritan craftsmen design, fabricate, and install conveyor extensions, product transfer chutes, process and HVAC ductwork, including temperature and humidity control systems. All work is being done in existing facilities and must be coordinated with plant personnel. For the most part, measurements must be taken, drawings produced, fabrication completed, and installation completed in a manner so as not to interfere with plant production or personnel.

This project was a fast track expansion for the ET process. The job consisted of a 135,000 C.F.M. air washer system with shop fabrication of dual wall stainless and galvanized ductwork, size 120" x 96" and 0.050 aluminum skin. Also design, fabrication and installation of approximately 2,000 feet of process stainless steel round all welded ductwork for fume and cooling exhaust. Design, fabrication and installation of conveyor hood enclosures, wall fire doors, and transfer chutes. The owner was furnished AutoCAD 14 drawings for this work.
